Leveraging Your Investment
Madison's Central BID accomplishments and value-added programs and services, 2004-2009.

BID Goals & Strategic Focus
The goal of Madison's Central BID is to increase the vitality and health of the district and promote business within it. The constituents are the property and business owners within the district. It is not intended as a substitute for City services (such as Mall Maintenance).

The four areas of BID Strategic Focus are to: Market the district as a whole, create a Welcoming Environment, develop Community Relations, and Advocate for the needs and interests of the district

Programs & Services
BID programs and services fall into three general categories as determined by the BID Strategic Focus:

Maximizing Marketing:
Promote the benefits of the district as an important community asset and a unique place to shop, dine, and play to residents and visitors throughout the greater Madison/Dane County area. Successful marketing programs include the Downtown Madison Map and Guide, Downtown Gift Certificates, BID-subsidized co-op advertising opportunities for members, general marketing efforts, a New Resident Packet program, and holiday promotions.

Welcoming Environment
Maintain and secure a friendly, welcoming, accessible, and unique environment within the BID. The Downtown Ambassadors, Planter Programs, and Holiday Decorations Programs contribute to a welcoming Downtown Madison.

Advocacy & Community Relations
Advocate for the interests of BID businesses and property owners and liaise with the city in areas such as construction, parking, safety & quality of life, and facilitate communication and maximize compatibility among downtown organizations.
